Mark Purdey an organic farmer who put forward the theory that Organophosphate's used for treating Warble fly ( by pouring along the spine) in cattle are at the root cause of the BSE outbreak.  He also put forward the idea that Manganese might also be an  additional factor in BSE and CJD, a theory that is now being accepted by the establishment and though Purdey's evidence was discounted it was included in the 16 volume Lord Phillips' BSE enquiry for Government in 1998.<br />
